Bearing Maintenance requires Oiling & Cleaning. Most noteworthy is the added life, speed, and revival this can do to your bearings. First of all you need serviceable bearings in order to clean them. A serviceable bearing in on which you can remove the bearing shield(s) or a bearing with only one shield. Therefore you have access to the balls and inner workings of the bearings. A non-serviceable bearing is generally one of low cost, so it isn’t worth the time to clean in the first place.
