Scram Skates Earth Ski Skateboards Andy deck Various Stains is a new deck for Winter 2017 from Scram Skates AKA Scram Earth Skis. This the only deck in the scram line up that is of the industry standard popsicle shape. Yet the side rails of the board don’t taper in, making it feel wider than it is. Although this is an 8.625″, it will skate like an 8.75″ or possibly larger.
Scram is founded and owned by modern creative legendary transition skater Nolan Johnson. Most notable, Nolan became famous for riding for Welcome skateboards and the creative impact that he had on Welcome. Although Welcome wasn’t Nolan’s first brand that he was a part of it was the one that made him well known in the skate world. Hence when Nolan left Welcome, Welcome changed; some say for the worse, but thats a matter of opinion. Ultimately Nolan’s impact on skating and popular culture, possibly be the driving force bring tranny skating back, can now be seen through Welcome.
Not unlike when Nolan was a part of Welcome, Scram is bringing unique yet highly functional new shapes into skating. They are pushing the envelope once more, showing that convention skating is an oxymoron. Rather Scrams creative influence on skating is polarizing skateboarding for the better. It is driving much of skating more underground and more creative, a positive for many. For the other half it’s only getting more sport like. Regardless, Scram isn’t just another company. Its not just another weird company. Scram Skates is doing there own thing, changing skating, rather than the same old stale graphics on an industry standard popsicle shape, they are one of the few making skating rad again.
